Post Office House is situated 6 miles north of Dunoon, on the north shore of the Holy Loch at Kilmun.

From Glasgow, choose from two routes:
Overland: drive up Loch Lomond and down Loch Fyne (A82, A83, A815). Drive time 1hr 30 min This is a superb scenic drive past Loch Lomond , the heart of Scotlands first National Park, then through the majestic Arrochar Alps, via the Rest and be Thankful pass.
By ferry:drive to Gourock (M8, A8, A770) then frequent ferry across the Clyde, then north to Kilmun (A815, A880). Drive time 45 mins, then 20 mins ferry, then 15 mins drive This is a splendid short ferry ride to Dunoon, the marine gateway to the Park.

Ferries
Western Ferries provide a vehicle and passenger service, from McInroy's point to Hunters Quay, with boats at every 15-30 minutes for much of the day, just turn up, not possible to reserve. See www.western-ferries.co.uk

Ferry tickets are available onboard, but are much cheaper (for Western ferries) at  stores in Gourock, or at the village shops in Sandbank. (2024, £40 car/driver return on the ferry, £23 car/driver return in the shops)  The Western Ferries website lists the shops that currently sell discounted tickets, and they will also post you tickets directly.

Finding us
Approaching from the north on the A815, pass Loch Eck and  Benmore Botanic Gardens. 1.5 miles beyond, turn left on to the A880,  Holy Loch appears on the right, 1 mile on right is Kilmun Pier, park just beyond the pier.

Approaching from Dunoon on the A815, look out for the Cothouse Services. Immediately after the Cothouse, turn right on to the A880, Holy Loch appears on the right, 1 mile on right is Kilmun Pier, park just beyond the pier.
